CHARLES FROM THE EXMILITARY SAYS:
This has got to be their best studio album since Audio, Video, Disco. Fucking MAGICAL.
Many would argue that this is just like any other synthwave album but I honestly think that this is different enough to not be regarded as some generic synthwave album. I don't even understand how it could be "generic" when you got tracks like Generator, Incognito, Explorer and Muscle Memory. I would have almost thought that this was a movie soundtrack. It's mysterious, dramatic and really sentimental and I honestly enjoy how simple this album is at times.
However, I think one small weakness about this album is that for some reason I can't enjoy the songs individually as easily. Saturnine for example is a REALLY GOOD track (one of the best) but it gets soooo much better when you listen to Muscle Memory (also one of the best tracks) and Harpy Dream before letting Saturnine play.
At the same time, I think it's a bit of a strength as well since Hyperdrama stands out the most out of all the albums when it comes to one thing, and that is that it feels like an actual journey from beginning to end. For this reason I think it's best if the whole album is listened to in full since the tracks elevate each other a lot, but all of the tracks are great on their own as well.
So happy to have Justice back. Not disappointed at all.
